Taking care of your sound and lighting equipment means extending its life, avoiding breakdowns and ensuring optimal performance every time you use it. Whether you're an amateur DJ, party organiser or occasional user, here are some good habits to get into.

1. The battery: use it properly to make it last

Portable systems generally run on two types of batteries:

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery

  • Advantages: lightweight, high performance, fast charging, no memory effect.
  • Care instructions:
    • Recharge between 20% and 80% to avoid premature wear.
    • Avoid frequent full charges or total discharges.
    • Store half-charged if not used for a long time.
    • Recharge at least once a month, even if not in use, to maintain capacity.

Lead acid battery

  • Advantages: robust, inexpensive.
  • Disadvantages: heavier, sensitive to deep discharges.
  • Maintenance tips:
    • Always recharge completely after use.
    • Never leave discharged for long periods.
    • Store fully charged every 2 months if not in use.
    • Recharge at least once a month, even if not in use, to prevent deterioration.

Important tip: A poorly maintained battery loses up to 50% of its capacity in 1 year.

2. Protection against water, humidity and dust

Water and humidity: silent enemies

  • Even if some products are IPX-rated (water-resistant), caution is advised.
  • Avoid splashes, rain or excessively humid locations (cellars, poorly ventilated garages).
  • Use a protective cover during transport or storage.

Dust: clean regularly

  • Use a dry, soft cloth.
  • Never use liquid detergent.
  • Blow gently into the grilles to remove dust (using a can of compressed air)

3. Storage and organisation: best practices

Where should you store your equipment?

  • In a dry place with a stable temperature (between 10 and 25°C).
  • Avoid areas exposed to direct sunlight or freezing temperatures.
  • Use transport cases or flight cases for fragile equipment.

What not to do

  • Leave equipment switched on unnecessarily.
  • Wind cables too tightly (risk of poor contact).
  • Stack heavy items on speakers or lighting equipment.

4. Use and handling: handle with care

  • Always connect the components in the correct order (mixer > amplifier > speaker).
  • Wait a few seconds before switching from one source to another.
  • Do not exceed 90% of the maximum volume to avoid distortion and overheating.

5. Need help? A few tips before contacting customer service

Before contacting our support team, please remember to:

  • Check the connections and cables (often the cause of malfunctions).
  • Read the user manual provided or available on the product page.
  • Consult our FAQ or resource centre.

You will find user guides, instructions and a dedicated contact form on our Support page.
